TOGUS V.A. MEDICAL CENTER CNA COURSE INFORMATIONAL SESSION

Augusta Adult and Community Education, Togus V.A. Medical Center, Eastern Maine Development Corporation, Western Maine Workforce Development, Community Concepts and the Career Center are partnering to offer Certified Nursing Assistant Training. You may be able to have this training paid for if you meet certain eligibility requirements.

This training encompasses 21st Century WorkReady skills, certified nursing theory and lab classes as well as hands on clinical training.  This program meets the requirements for State of Maine certification.  Upon successful completion of the course, students will be guaranteed an interview at Togus VA Medical Center.

Things to know before you apply:

·   must be 18 years old (Identification required)

·   must have a high school diploma or equivalent

·   must pass a background check

·   must complete an application and include 2 letters of reference 

·   must show proof of required immunizations

·   must complete onboarding paperwork for Togus Medical Facility

In addition, candidates must complete a reading, writing, digital literacy and career assessment prior to May 6th, 2021.  

These assessments (called CASAS assessments) are offered at the following times each week:

Mondays (1pm) available: April 26, and May 3  

Tuesdays (5pm) available: April 13, April 20, April 27, and May 4

Thursdays (9am) available: April 15, April 22, and April 29

Please indicate your preference on your registration. We will notify you if your preference is not available.

There will be a full Informational Session for all who apply on Wednesday, May 12th from 9:00 am until 10:30 am via Zoom.  Link will be provided through your e-mail address after you apply.
