Augusta Adult and Community Education promotes innovative and flexible learning
opportunities through educational classes and community-based partnerships to ensure each student’s ability to succeed and develop skills needed for further education, job training, or employment opportunities.
Adult education in Maine is a statewide system of more than 100 connected learning programs and centers from Kittery to Fort Kent and everywhere in between. In any economy, Adult Education courses are great choices because they are local, affordable, and are designed to fit within your schedule.
Adult education programs offer courses in 5 major categories:
High School or HISET Completion
There are two different pathways for High School Completion: High School Diploma, HiSET.
Adult and College Transitions
These courses assist people of all ages wishing to make the transition into college-level courses.
Workforce Development
These courses prepare students by providing the modern skills for new careers and promotions.
English Language Learners – Literacy
These courses give people the support and training necessary to improve their literacy skills.
Personal Enrichment
Based on the interests of the community, classes may include arts/crafts, cooking and events.
