Augusta Area Construction Training Program

Augusta Adult & Community Education (AACE) in partnership with Associated General Contractors of Maine, Western Maine Community Action, FedCap, Maine Staffing and the CareerCenter are offering a construction skills training program designed to equip candidates with the work reediness skills and sector-specific skills necessary to become employed in an entry level construction-related position.

Students are provided work experience with local employers and may be eligible for on-the-job training upon completion of the program. To qualify, participants must be 18 years old; interested in construction as a career; pass CASAS reading/math assessments; complete an interest assessment; have the ability to work in the United States; and successfully complete an eligibility screening.

Successful candidates will earn a WorkReady credential, OSHA 10, RRP certification and learn all about workplace safety, hand and power tools, along with measuring, fraction and basic geometry.

Candidates need to register online at www.augusta.maineadulted.org to attend the Information Session being held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Augusta Adult and Community Education office, 33 Union Street, Augusta, Maine. The deadline to register is May 14th.
